Shut and Open to Pray
by Pam Woodson

On Facebook yesterday, a friend asked the questions: "What is the best message you have heard on prayer? How did it impact your prayer life?" I couldn't think of any particular sermon by any particular person that impacted me, but I started thinking about prayer and how it can be a great impact itself -- on my own life, others, and the world. I posted my thought about it on my FB status and commented on his question in like manner.

How can we pray in such a way that our prayer has great impact, is effective, and accomplishes much? Here is what I wrote: "I am big on prayer. For REALLY effective prayer, you have to shut your eyes to the world around you and open them up to behold the Almighty God in order for faith in Him to rise up in you and give you confidence that 'there's NOBODY and NOTHING in the world that cannot be changed because of your time sitting there praying to God.' Nothing is impossible to him who believes...all things are possible with God."

"Our eyes are on Thee" (2 Chron. 20:12).
